One hundred and sixty-five...

Avery was almost 1 in this picture. Not too shocking that her cozy is right by her side. I just wanted to blog about how much this little girl likes books. Sometimes, when we are shopping and we stop to look around in the toy section she can be found on the floor with a book. Often she will just blaze right throught the girls toys and nothing will catch her eye. But when we are near the books she will always find one to flip through. The photo below is a prime example of her nature. We had stopped in to take birthday treats to Rowdy's 1st grade class at the end of the year and this is where Avery settled in...the reading corner.
At bedtime she will say "I'm not tired, going to bed is boring". So my solution is to simply tell her that she doesn't have to go to sleep, but she has to be in your bed and she can read books. It works like a charm...she looks at books for awhile and then she will even get out of bed and turn her light off and tuck back it. I do have some sucessful Mom moments weaved in among all the crazy ones!

Four

Avery had her first dance recital last night. These photos were taken at the dress rehearsal at the dance studio. She did so good! I just can't explain how my heart swelled to see her up there dancing her little heart out. She smiled so big. She told me "Mama, I'm not even scared to go on stage!" She did three dances The Sugarplum Fairy (ballet), The Robot (tap) and Hip Hop Teddy Bear (tap). She nailed them all. Ron even said some people in the audience were singling her out and saying how cute she was....Ahhhhh that's my girl. I have to admit there was a small part of me that was a little envious of her. I have always wanted to take ballet and tap. It just look like so much fun. It was so cute to see how independent she was, as well. She just walked onto stage each time and found her spot and waited for the curtains to open. BRAVO SWEETHEART. I even bought her a single pink rose to give to her after she was done. And of course we went to DQ for some ice cream afterwards. So we had both a cultural experience and some fine dining too!
