Two Hundred and Ninety...

Rowdy James bringing home the hardware at the end of his season in football. He had his last game on at the end of October and he had fun but he says he wants to try soccer next year.

Two Hundred and Seventy-Four...

That's my boy. After a muddy rainy football game. He has done so well this year. He has improved a ton. This is his last year of flag, it is going to be hard to see him get tackled for real...I know this because my I don't like when he just gets pushed a little bit now in flag...

Two Hundred and Thirty five...

Rowdy is in football again this year. At the end of practice they play a game where one person starts in the middle and then the team runs by them and the person trys to get their flag. If your flag gets pulled you help the guy in the middle get the rest of the team on the next run.
Look at that face...Ha Ha you can't catch me.
Do you think he is a bit excited that no one got his flag on that run!!!

One hundred and fifty-five...

I can't believe that we just finished T-Ball and it is time for me to register Rowdy for Football. These are photos from last fall. I don't think I posted very many of them during the season. Rowdy has mixed emotions about playing. He gets really nervous. But that is our cue as parents to get him involved. He played center last year and he could snap the ball really well. However, when the play got in motion he would just stand there. He is not very aggressive. And it is probably a little confusing to hear all your life "keep your hands to yourself" and then for us to be telling him to "GET A GUY" (that is something my Mother-in-law used to yell from the stands when she watched her boys play football, a little Shinkle family vernacular).

Be Aggressive B-E Aggressive! B-E-A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E
Sorry, old chant from my cheerleading days!
It is so hard to know as a parent if the things that you involve your kids in are going to be positive experiences that will help shape them into well rounded people. Or, are they going to look back and say, "My parents forced me to play football and I didn't like it!"
Right now I choose to think the first of the two outcomes. Because of moments like these...
{Effort and Success}
{Encouragement}
{Teamwork}
